The Perfect Weekend in Niagara on the Falls (Canada)

Step 1: Eat Poutine and lots of it and do NOT feel guilty about it! Also, find a place with great views. We checked out Queen’s Landing Hotel for a midday bite and a cocktail and we were not disappointed!

Step 2: Chose a spectacular AirB&B:

I highly recommend @thenewarkhouse (Instagram). It’s three bedrooms, with a finished basement, front porch and back balcony complete with a hammock and outdoor dining table. Beautifully styled, brand new and BANG BANG, there’s an Irish pub and a breakfast place across the street. WINNER!

Beautiful kitchen with a coffee maker – a must!

Comfortable and cozy living room, but hopefully the weather is nice for you, so you can relax outside!

Good old Irish pub across the street, with live music, and outdoor patio and bangers and mash (no one can refuse that Irish gem!)

Step 3: WINE. WINE. WINE. Especially ice wine. Who cares if you don’t like sweet wines, don’t insult the nice Canadians!

We did the tasting menu at Trius Winery Restaurant, it was fabulous. I wish I could say I didn’t eat all this food, but I would be a liar…here we are…

Step 4: Lots of live music. How can you ever go wrong with live music?!

The Irish Harp has some incredible live music. Another recommendation is the Prince of Wales Hotel. They had a saxophone player that was incredible. Their high tea at noon was quite fabulous too. (So much food!) We also found some fantastic live music at the Jackson Triggs Winery.

Step 5: Winery tours and/or cooking classes are a must! Hinterbrook Winery was beautiful. Inniskillin is a definite must do. Strewn Winery does cooking classes, and they have a tasting room, and wine shop. It’s quite lovely!

Step 6: Make sure you go with awesome humans, who like to eat and drink wine as much as you do! I mean, duh…

‘A picture does equal a thousand words’ so they say, so here we go…(pictures from Inniskillin). Kudos to the staff here, they were absolutely incredible! Private dinner/tasting shown below. Also, shout out to the weather Gods for a fantastic picture perfect weekend, cheers to you!

Lastly (side note)…Canadians are legit the nicest people on the planet. How do they get so angry and hostile in the NHL when I’ve never met an angry Canadian in my life?!
